The ๐—ง๐—ฟ๐—ฒ๐—ฒ ๐—ผ๐—ณ ๐—›๐—ฒ๐—ฎ๐˜ƒ๐—ฒ๐—ป (Ailanthus altissima) a rapidly growing deciduous tree native to China that has become a widespread invasive species across North America. Now is a GREAT time to cut these down! This plant may be mildly toxic. The noxious odors have been associated with nausea and headaches, and with contact dermatitis has been reported in both humans and sheep, which developed weakness and paralysis. It contains a quinone irritant, 2,6-dimethoxybenzoquinone, as well as quassinoids. Its terribly invasive and fast growing...up to 6 feet in a single year! So when growing along your fence or up against your home, it can turn into a big problem really quick! It spreads prolifically; a single tree can produce 300,000 seeds annually! The aggressive root system can sprout new trees even after you cut the tree down. It is very difficult to control! The Tree of "Heaven" even releases chemicals into the soil that inhibit the growth of nearby plants, further suppressing competition. The leaves and flowers emit a foul smell resembling rancid peanut butter. All around, this is a terrible pest to have in your landscape; you can't get rid of it fast enough!

If you have one that accidentally got way out of control and too big to safely handle, give us a ring and we'll help you out.
